Vero Beach, Florida : A snapshot in August

Blue swings, blue skies

Bright,blue skies as wide as the horizon, accented with soft white puffy clouds. Light breeze rippling through the spacious, uncrowded, green grass park.

Me, with my camera and belly full of tomatoes and mozzarella, playfully swinging in the sandy playground and looking out,at the top of the exuberant swing, into the vast, rolling white tipped waves of the Atlantic Ocean.

This is Vero Beach. Vero Beach, Florida.

Beautiful, well-kept beaches with no overreaching, clunky hotels. Very unassuming and low-key in it's presentation. Refreshingly restrained, modest.

I'm in a public park with benches, picnic tables, restroom facilities,and lots of green space impeccably maintained. And a big red whale slide thingamajig calling to me on the playground. And free parking (hard to believe).
