It does not matter what time of year you are seeking things to do in Dallas, you will be surprised at the number of activities you can find. An 11th century castle will be the perfect setting for what you are about to experience. Surrounded by a moat with koi, the castle awaits. The Dallas castle sits on nine acres and has ivy covered walls just like the castles of old. Space for 1000 guests in the celebration arena where you will enjoy a royal four-course feast and the tournaments of medieval days are re-created for your enjoyment. Transporting you back in time to the days when this entertainment was for royal guests, this is definitely an experience you will remember long after you have returned home.

Returning to a little more modern times, the Texas School Book Depository is another interesting site to visit - particularly the 6th floor museum. If you are curious about the history of your country, this floor is dedicated to John F. Kennedy and his life. This is where the gun was found that was used to assassinate President Kennedy in 1963. Also a part of the museum is information about his life and career. History is very much a part of this building as you will see when choosing this experience as one of the things to do in Dallas.

On a lighter note, you will want to go to the State Fair of Texas while visiting. This is a 24 day fair that has a variety of events to entertain and keep you busy while you are enjoying all the things to do in Dallas. There are carnival rides, great food and live music as well as the high point of the fair - the Texas-Oklahoma game - the football game that everyone has waited for all year long. If you are a real Dallas fan, you can tour the training facilities while you are visiting Texas.

If you are a water sports person, you will want to include Lake Lewisville on your things to do in Dallas list. This is the place to go for a variety of fun and exciting activities on the water. From fishing to sail boarding, water skiing and swimming, you will find it all here. The kids will love it as well and sailing is one of the activities you can enjoy with the family. There is just something about the water that calms and soothes and provides the relaxing vacation you have been waiting for all year long.

The Dallas Zoo attracts visitors from all over the country. Their animals are from every part of the world and the habitats that are provided for their home at the zoo are some of the best. They actually have won awards for providing the animals with the closest natural habitat to their own. In the summer, there is a monorail for the guests of the zoo to ride throughout the grounds as they visit the animals.

Don’t forget to stop at White Rock Lake and see the beautiful gardens in bloom. The Arboretum has flowers that bloom all year and often people choose this as a setting for weddings as it is so colorful and gorgeous. The Arboretum has tours every day.
