Once a secret bunker built 700 feet underground beneath the elegant Greenbrier Resort to house members of Congress in the case of catastrophe, this is now a tourist attraction and one of the places to visit in West Virginia that’ll give you something to talk about. The bunker was built to protect the federal government during the Cold War. On the tour, you’ll see the bunker, the dormitories, the hospital, decontamination rooms, the power plant, and accommodations for Congress.
