From sculpture to blankets woven from the local sheep, this is the best place to check out the talent in this area of Vermont.

Of course, places to visit in Vermont should include one of the things that this state is most famous for - maple syrup. There are many sugarhouses located throughout the state. In Montpelier you may visit a farm that produces maple syrup and has been in the family for eight generations doing so.

Gift shops are also available so you can take a memento of this area home. The traditional methods of sap gathering are still practiced at many of the farms. Tours are usually available year round even though the maple season is typically only from 4 to 6 weeks. The season in the southern area of Vermont usually starts in February and often lasts until April in the northern areas of Vermont.
