A Guide To Places To Visit In Jamaica
See below for the amazing places to visit in Jamaica
Jamaica is unlike any other place I have ever experienced. In addition, true to this are the places to visit in Jamaica. You can enjoy relaxing outings, admiring some of the charming historical sites or be adventurous and experience a few thrills.
Many a tourist will not even consider visiting a school as part of their vacation. Should you decide to do this though, you will be amazed at what the teachers manage to do with the little at their disposal.
Coyaba River Garden & Museum, Ocho Rios
Climb the stunning Mahoe Falls and walk through the lush, botanical garden with a personal tour guide. A truly memorable experience. Good family fun.
Dolphin Cove, Ocho Rios
Swim with the dolphins and on the Jungle Trail feed parrots with your mouth. If you are brave enough you can even cuddle a few snakes and iguanas
Helitours, Ocho Rios
Experience Jamaica from the air. Whether you take the 15-minute Ocho Rios Fun Hop, the half-hour "Memories of Jamaica" or the hour long "Jamaican Showcase" you are in for a treat.
Hooves, St Ann's Bay
Maybe I have watched too many movies, but horse riding on the beach is (to me anyway) one of the most romantic things to do. Helping to take care of abandoned horses and providing employment are benefits your tourist dollars offer here.
Y S Falls, South Coast
Think of sensational models posing atone of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world. Modeling companies love to use this three-tier waterfall as a photographic backdrop.
Nine Mile, St Ann's
Visit Bob Marley's house and your guide will most probably entertain you with his rendition of a few Marley songs.
Dunn's River Falls, Ocho Rios
If you like a challenge then you definitely have to climb the Dunn's River Falls. Children under the age of 12 might find it too much of a challenge though.
Treasure Beach, South Coast
If you are looking for a beach that is considered crowded when there are more than 12 people lazing about, the pay these beaches a visit.
Devon House, St Andrew
Built by Jamaica's first black millionaire, George Steibel in 1881, Devon House is a regal and stately manor. Don't ask me why, but I had a wonderfully warm, satisfied feeling after seeing it in all its glory.
MONTEGO BAY
In and around Montego Bay you will find some more very interesting places to visit in Jamaica.
Belvedere Estate
Beautiful scenery this working sugar cane plantation is full of surprises.
Chukka Blue Adventure Tours
Another one for horse lovers. Spend 2/12 hours on horseback and watch this amazing landscape unfold. At the end of the trip, hot & sweaty, you can cool off in the sea, horse and all.
Arrange to spend the next day leisurely on the beach as you might find you have some sore muscles you didn't even know you had!
PORT ANTONIO
This quiet little town offers an amazing variety of places worth visiting:
Caves of Nonsuch
Incredible rock formations, millions of years old.
Athenry Gardens
Have a relaxing outing and the chance to see hundreds of plant species.
San San Beach
This perfect beach is protected by a coral reef and ideal for swimming, scuba diving and snorkeling.
Once again, there are many, many more places to visit in Jamaica. I'm sure once you've discovered them on your travels; you will find most of them as enjoyable as I do.
