amongst the natural animals on display. There is a train tour as well as a 50-foot slide for the kids
to enjoy. You get a hands on experience of life on the prairie.
New Salem is a historic site you do not want to miss. Abraham Lincoln spent six years in this area and
it was here that he decided he wanted to become a lawyer, which paved the way for presidency. Lincoln held
many jobs in this area such as rail-splitter, postmaster, store clerk, and surveyor. It was also here he
decided to serve in the Black Hawk War.
