As the capital and largest city, there are plenty of cool attractions and sights to check out. With a documented history that traces back to the 13th century, the city has seen its fair share of cultural and political change.

This Culture makes for an interesting journey into the past and exploration of the present. It is here that the Kingdom of Prussia thrived; World War II divided the city; and reunification took place in 1990.

Throughout the years, some of the best cultural, media, and scientific accomplishments of Europe have occurred in many of the exciting places to visit in Berlin. Mitte

Museum Island

The New Museum (Neues) is found behind the Old Museum and is home to exhibits regarding Egyptian and pre-historic relics. The Pergamon Museum was constructed between 1910 and 1930, where reconstructed buildings of the past are on display. The museum also hosts collections of Middle Eastern and Islamic art.

William Memorial Church

Found in the center of the Breitscheidplatz, this church dates back to 1891 and takes on the style of a neo-Romanesque style. The inside of the church is truly breathtaking.

Deutsches Theater

This popular theater was constructed in 1850, originally named after Frederick William IV of Prussia. The main stage was built to accommodate the operettas of the past. Today, this theater is known as one of the more prominent in the country.

Zoologischer Garten Berlin

As one of the largest zoos in Germany, this is one of the places to visit in Berlin that delivers the highest number of species that represents the world. An aquarium, giant pandas, and the zoological garden are some of the main draws of this attraction.

Treptower Park

For one of the places to visit in Berlin that pays homage to soldiers lost in battle – this site honors the Soviets who lost their lives in the 1945 Battle of Berlin. This popular tourist attraction is situated along the river Spree in Treptow.
