Places to Stay in Orlando: Florida's Theme Park City

Home to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, Orlando is Florida’s crown gem.  There is a plethora of exciting and convenient places to stay in Orlando, whether you plan on taking in the theme parks or checking out the other great tourist attractions.

It’s super-easy to find hotels that are located just a few moments from the major attractions, as well as shopping, dining, and other fantastic activities.

When looking for places to visit in Orlando, you should think about what is most important to you. 

If it’s a five-star hotel you want, consider Reunion Resort, a gorgeous hotel featuring three 18-hole golf courses and a spa.  It’s located just six miles from Walt Disney World, twelve miles from Sea World and sixteen miles from Universal Studios. 

You’re sure to enjoy your stay at the Reunion, but it’s not your only option.  Both the Ritz-Carlton and the Waldorf Astoria are close by too – and they’re both five-star hotels.

If you’re more interested in convenience than luxury, the Embassy Suites Orlando is a great option.  It’s just ten miles from Orlando International Airport and a short drive to the Orange County Convention Center. 

Less expensive than the five-star hotels, Embassy Suites will still provide you with a massive amount of comforts, from meeting rooms and audio/video equipment to complimentary breakfast, room service, and a safety deposit box.  Other hotels that are inexpensive and conveniently located include the Peabody Orlando Hotel, the Sheraton Orlando and the Double Tree Hotel located at the entrance to Universal Studios.  They may not be five-star hotels, but they don’t leave guests wanting, either.

While the theme parks are quite popular, they’re not the only fun Orlando serves up. In fact, there are many places to stay in Orlando that are a hop, skip and a jump away from fun activities like scuba-diving, fishing, hiking, boating and whale-watching.  Scuba-diving allows you to interact and view some of the most beautiful plants and creatures in existence.  For those who would rather stay dry, Orlando is jam-packed with historic buildings and gorgeous sights.  If you’d rather skip the hotel and go for something a little more romantic, cozy and historical, try one of the popular Orlando bed and breakfasts. The Veranda Bed and Breakfast is located in historic Thornton Park, and dates back to the 1900’s.

The Veranda is a short walk to Lake Eola, where you can paddle a swan boat!  It’s also very near Orlando’s downtown business district.  Other choices include the Perri House Bed and Breakfast - just five minutes from Orlando – the Thurston House Bed and Breakfast, and The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne. 

The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne features four different houses, designed to swaddle you in luxury and comfort. From complimentary wine to a 24-hour staff and common areas with libraries and roaring fires – what’s not to love?  While there are many other places to stay in Orlando, it’s difficult to deny the allure of a historic and charming bed and breakfast. 

Regardless of why you’re visiting the area, there are many accommodations that are available for tastes of all kinds and wallets of all sizes.  You’re sure to find one in a convenient location for your needs as well.
