Be sure to check out these places to stay in Cooperstown NY below
Cooperstown NY is a great vacation spot for the baseball fan, the theater aficionado and
the nature buff, with the Baseball Hall of Fame and the Glimmerglass opera found right in the
heart of one of New York's most gorgeous lake towns. There's lots to do in Cooperstown, but
where do you spend the night? Here's a list of the coolest places to stay in Cooperstown NY.
Tunnicliff Inn
This is perhaps the most popular place to stay in Cooperstown, with everything virtually walking
distance from the historic 200-year-old inn. Tunnicliff Inn is probably the best place to stay if
you arrive in the off season, as you won't be staying out in the cold for too long - and believe
us, Cooperstown gets really, really cold. Off season, the inn charges $50 a night; $75 in season.
The food is awesome, the breakfast non-traditional and the pub is a great place to meet locals
and other travelers.
Otesaga Hotel
Found at the very foot of Lake Otesaga is this stunning hotel that was deemed a Historic Hotel of
America, as granted by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Otesaga Hotel features heated
outdoor pool, a golf course and a fitness club. There are comfy rocking chairs on the veranda so
that guests could lounge with ease while enjoying the stunning view of the lake.
Holiday Inn Express Suites
Not as expensive as Otesaga Hotel is the Holiday Inn Express Suites, the hotel is all about quality
and service, with a friendly staff and all the best amenities in Cooperstown, including complimentary
breakfast and free use of the business center. You will also enjoy the indoor pool and spa, as well
as the view of the mountains.
Lake N Pines Motel
Found along Lake Otesaga, the cottages feature cozy and spacious rooms with warm fireplaces and
complimentary breakfasts that all make a great deal for its surprisingly affordable price. In the
summer months, make sure to take any of the free paddle or rowboats for a nice spin around the
lake. There are also two heated pools and several jacuzzis that fit four people.
Middlefield Guest House
Although still a ten-minute drive from Cooperstown, the on-the-way bed and breakfast is a definite
stop over that you should experience. You will be accommodated personally by the owner, Jackie,
who will entertain you with stories of the lake town and fill you up with a delicious breakfast
of blueberry pancakes, coffee cake, fruit and sausages.
Best Western Inn and Suites at the Commons
This is the best place to stay when attending the Youth Hall of Fame Tournament at Cooperstown
Dreams Park, although you should reserve rooms a year in advance as other tournament goers already
know this fact by heart. Families deem the Best Western Inn and Suites at the Commons their favorite
place to stay in Cooperstown.
Cooperstown Bed and Breakfast
This fabulous 1902 Victorian-style mansion that's only a few minutes walk from the Baseball Hall of
Fame was turned into a quaint bed and breakfast with all the comforts of home - blue willow china,
antique furniture, down comforters in the bedroom. The breakfast buffet features homemade scones,
cinnamon rolls and waffles, with chocolate chip cookies and other pastries served during the afternoon
and evening.
