Places to Stay in Brazil:Check Out the AmazonWhen you are looking for the places to stay in Brazil that will allow you to experience the full wonder of this country, you will find northern Brazil has much to offer. Many people choose to stay in Manaus when exploring this area. It is close enough to take many trips to the jungle where there are other smaller villages to visit. Manaus is the city often called the ‘gateway to the Amazon.’ If adventure is a little more to your liking, you may want to journey into the Amazon and stay at the Jungle Palace. This is a hotel, two stories tall that floats on a steel platform. Located in the midst of a lagoon, the Jungle Palace is secured so there is no danger of it floating away. The hotel is actually much more charming than one would think with air conditioning in the rooms. In addition there is a terrace where one can sit in relative comfort since the water from the Rio Negro (The Black River) keeps the mosquitoes at bay. Do not be surprised while you are in the jungle to see the dolphins which are a rare pink color. Alligators and piranha are among the other wildlife you will catch sight of if you are lucky. Although the dolphins are not as friendly as the salt water type, they do present quite a sight when you spot one. Villages in the jungle are another place you can interact with the natives and see how simply they live. As mentioned, Manaus is the choice for many when it comes to places to stay in Brazil. This city is home to the Opera House, which was built in 1898 and is one of the most impressive buildings in the area. Surrounded by other buildings constructed in a stunning French style from the 19th century, one can see why this area was dubbed, “the Paris of the Tropics” before the decline of the rubber boom. The city is interesting from a tourist’s point of view and seeing the Amazon River is one of the high points. The rainforest is another aspect of going to this area of Brazil. Another of the interesting places to stay in Brazil is Cacuoeira, one of the small towns that is a neighbor of Salvador. Separated from Sao Felix by the Paraguacu River, while you are here visiting the Danneman Museum will be a treat. This is a cigar factory where you can watch women rolling cigars. These are the expensive hand-rolled type and really require a fair amount of work to roll these cigars individually. Salvador is where Brazilians go for Carnival. This city in the northeast section of Brazil, was actually the first capital of Brazil although Rio de Janeiro became the capital in the eighteenth century. The number one draw for this city other than street parties and Carnival is the opportunity to see the many different cultural aspects that create this city’s lifestyle, music and cuisine. This is one of the more interesting places to stay in Brazil especially if one goes during Carnival. Be sure and take your camera as Salvador is quite the picturesque city.Return From Places to Stay in Brazil To Places To Visit In South America
