The Duck River
Canoe Trip

There are so many places to visit in Tennessee but taking a canoe trip down the Duck River is a must for people that are looking for a cheap and fun trip.

I have been taking a group to the river for three years now.

The first year we did the five mile trip and loved it. We rented out canoe's from River Rats Canoe Rental. They are very friendly and the cost is between $20-25 depending on if you have 10 or more people coming with you like we do.

The next year (2006) we did the nine mile trip. Now this trip is work! It is a nice trip, don't get me wrong, but you have to work on this trip. We actually did the nine mile again this year (2007) so it isn't that bad.

The water is fairly low. There are some deep spots but nothing to worry about.

I made a video of our last trip so you can see how cool this trip really is and you can get a glimpse of the "one" rapid that the river has on the entire trip. <---so much fun!

I put the Duck River as one of the coolest places to visit in Tennessee because all ages can participate in this trip and you don't have to spend a fortune.

We actually stop in Chapel Hill, Tennessee at the Subway there to get lunch. We do it every year.

If you are looking for a fun place to visit then you have to stop in and take a trip. If you are really into the outdoors then you may want to sign up for the two day canoe trip.
